Concord, NH – A Brentwood woman was arrested early Sunday after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 93 and failing to stop for state troopers.
According to State Police, reports of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes began coming in around 3:30 a.m. The vehicle, first spotted in Northfield, was later intercepted by troopers near Exit 17 in Concord. Despite the trooper’s attempts to stop her, the driver continued south.
As the vehicle approached Exit 16, troopers deployed a tire deflation device, with the wrong-way driver continuing southbound. The vehicle eventually came to a stop just north of the Interstate 393 interchange after encountering an officer from the Concord Police Department.
After a roadside investigation, the driver, identified as Emily R. Lecuyer, 20, was arrested and charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, and disobeying an officer.
Lecuyer was transported to the Troop D barracks, where she was bailed and released on personal recognizance. She has been ordered to appear in Concord District Court at a later date.
State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the vehicle traveling the wrong way, or who has further information that may assist in the investigation, to contact Trooper Bilotta at Zachary.T.Bilotta@dos.nh.gov or (603) 223-4381.
