Chicago, IL – A Chicago woman was arrested by the Illinois State Police (ISP) in connection with a fatal wrong-way crash on the Kennedy Expressway early Wednesday morning.

According to ISP, Jakyla M. Hester, 21, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing death, reckless homicide, and aggravated driving under the influence without a valid driver’s license. The crash occurred around 4:31 a.m. Wednesday when Hester’s Volkswagen sedan, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 90 near Cumberland Avenue, collided with a Honda sedan. The Honda’s driver, Quinn Fraboni, 27, of Vernon Hills, IL, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges on Thursday, and Hester is being held at the Cook County Jail pending a detention hearing. The charges are not evidence against the defendant, who is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
