State College, PA – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a frost advisory for parts of northern Pennsylvania beginning midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Thursday.
Forecasters expect temperatures to dip between 32 and 35 degrees, creating conditions for widespread frost formation. The advisory covers McKean, Potter, Elk, Tioga, and Sullivan counties, including the cities of Bradford, Wellsboro, Mansfield, St. Marys, Ridgway, Coudersport, and Laporte.
According to the NWS, frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Agricultural producers and homeowners are advised to protect crops, gardens, and plants ahead of the overnight chill.
This event continues a broader frost pattern across the Northeast this week, with advisories also in place for New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine. Thursday morning will mark one of the first widespread frost occurrences of the season for northern Pennsylvania.
