Canton, OH – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office will conduct two sobriety checkpoints tonight, Friday, November 14, 2025, targeting impaired drivers across Plain and Osnaburg Townships.

According to Sheriff Eric Weisburn, the checkpoints are part of a joint enforcement effort with the Stark County OVI Task Force. The first checkpoint will take place from 6–8:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Louisville Street NE in Plain Township. The second will follow from 8:30–11 p.m. in the 200 block of N. Wood Street in East Canton, located in Osnaburg Township.

Officers will conduct roadside screenings for alcohol and drug impairment during both stops. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the initiative aims to reduce crashes and keep Stark County roads safe through visible enforcement.

“Impaired driving is never acceptable,” the department stated in a release. “Always make the responsible choice to plan ahead for a safe, sober ride home.”

Motorists traveling through the designated areas should expect brief delays and are urged to drive carefully and remain alert during the enforcement periods.
