Canton, OH – Two people were taken into custody this week after a drug investigation in Canton led to the seizure of firearms, cash, and illegal narcotics, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday in the 800 block of McGregor Avenue Northwest following a drug investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Metro Narcotics Unit. The operation was carried out with assistance from the Canton Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the Adult Parole Authority.

Authorities said the search resulted in two arrests and the recovery of multiple items tied to alleged drug activity. Jaylin Daniels, born November 28, 2000, was arrested on an alleged parole violation. Nijol Ellis, born September 17, 1998, was arrested on one count of allegedly receiving stolen property involving a firearm, a fourth-degree felony under Ohio law.

Investigators reported seizing three firearms during the search, including one that was confirmed stolen. Deputies also recovered approximately $780 in U.S. currency.

In addition, authorities said suspected illegal narcotics were found at the residence, including about 49 grams of cocaine and approximately 84 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Officials emphasized that the case remains under investigation and that additional charges may be filed as the review continues. No further details were immediately released.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office did not specify whether the suspects have legal representation or when they are expected to appear in court. All charges are allegations, and those arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Residents in the area are encouraged to report suspicious activity to local law enforcement as narcotics investigations continue across Stark County.
