St. Louis, Mo. – After a cool start to September, Missouri is set to heat up again with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and near 90 degrees by midweek. Minimal rain is expected during the warmup, keeping conditions dry across much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, daytime highs will gradually rise from the mid-70s Sunday to the upper 80s by Wednesday. Overnight lows will stay mild, ranging from the upper 40s to near 60 degrees. The extended outlook into mid-September points to above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation.

For drivers and outdoor workers, the dry pattern means favorable conditions on Missouri’s highways, but the warmth could be uncomfortable for those without air conditioning. Residents should stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat as highs approach 90 degrees by Wednesday.

Rain chances remain very limited, offering little relief for parched soil across central and eastern Missouri. Farmers may need to monitor fields closely as the lack of precipitation continues through the week.

The National Weather Service notes this hot, dry pattern is expected to persist into next weekend, with updates to follow if conditions shift.
