St. Louis, Mo. – A stretch of summerlike heat across Missouri will give way to unsettled skies this weekend as thunderstorms move into the St. Louis area starting Friday evening. Drivers and outdoor events could face disruptions as the storm chances build through Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the first round of storms may develop late Friday afternoon with a 30% chance of rain, followed by more widespread activity Saturday evening. By Sunday, the threat of thunderstorms increases, with rain and lightning expected during the afternoon and evening hours.

Daytime highs will remain in the mid-80s across the metro, but humidity will rise, pushing heat indices into the upper 90s at times. Residents are urged to move indoors quickly if storms approach and to avoid flooded roadways.

Storm chances continue into Monday, with a 50 to 60% likelihood of showers across the metro. Conditions may improve slightly by midweek, but scattered rain remains possible.
