St. Louis, MO –Missourians heading into the Thanksgiving holiday may want to prepare for a cooler stretch of weather as a new long-range outlook highlights an increased chance of below-average temperatures next week. The National Weather Service in St. Louis reports that between November 27 and December 3, the region faces a 40–60% likelihood of colder-than-normal conditions.
According to the Climate Prediction Center, the pattern begins setting up late Thanksgiving weekend and could hold into the first days of December. Forecast averages during this period show overnight lows between 27° and 33° and daytime highs ranging from 44° to 51°, signaling a noticeable cooldown compared to typical late-November temperatures across Missouri and southern Illinois.
While forecasters emphasize that it’s still too early to determine the exact intensity of the cold snap, early indicators point to a widespread chilly trend affecting travel, outdoor plans, and holiday events across the St. Louis metro, eastern Missouri, and surrounding counties.
