St. Louis, MO – Residents across Missouri will endure a hot start to the week, with temperatures soaring into the upper 90s before a cold front arrives later this week, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
Forecasters said Sunday that daily highs will remain in the mid-90s through Wednesday, with heat index values peaking above 100 degrees in some areas. “Temperatures will continue to be well above normal through the middle of this week before a cold front brings some relief,” the agency reported.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible each day, though the strongest chances are tied to the approaching cold front on Thursday and Friday. Storm coverage is expected to be 30–50 percent statewide on Thursday and 30–40 percent Friday. Prior to that, storm chances will remain isolated, mainly over central and northeast Missouri.
Daytime highs are forecast at 94–98 degrees Sunday, 91–94 Monday, and 90–93 Tuesday. A slight drop is expected midweek, with highs around 89–94 Wednesday before cooler conditions settle in, reaching 82–92 Thursday and 80–87 Friday. Overnight lows will range from the mid-60s to lower 70s.
The cold front is expected to bring noticeable relief heading into the weekend, with temperatures dropping closer to seasonal norms.
