St. Louis, MO – Drivers traveling along Interstate 270 in the St. Louis area should plan for overnight delays this weekend as road crews shift traffic near a major interchange.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), northbound I-270 traffic will be shifted to the left near Interstate 64 at mile marker 12 on Friday and Saturday nights, February 6 and February 7, weather permitting. The work will take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.

MoDOT says up to two additional northbound lanes may be closed during the work window as crews continue roadway improvements. The affected stretch runs through central St. Louis County, near medical centers and major commuter routes serving the greater St. Louis metro area.

While the closures are scheduled overnight to reduce daytime congestion, drivers traveling late at night or early in the morning should still expect slower speeds, lane shifts, and possible backups, especially near the I-64 interchange.

MoDOT advises motorists to use caution in the work zone, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time if passing through the area. Drivers can also consider alternate routes during the closure hours to avoid delays.

Additional updates and changes to the schedule may occur depending on weather conditions.
