ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A stretch of dry, seasonably warm fall weather will settle over eastern Missouri through midweek before a late-week system brings a small chance for rain. The National Weather Service in St. Louis reports that temperatures will rise several degrees above normal, with afternoon highs in the low 70s by Wednesday.

According to the Weather Service, tonight will be mostly clear and not as cold, with lows dipping into the upper 30s to near 40 degrees across the metro and mid-30s in outlying areas. Dry conditions will persist Monday through Thursday as light southerly winds usher in warmer air. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the upper 60s Monday, climbing into the low to mid-70s by midweek.

Forecasters expect the next chance for showers to arrive late Thursday into Friday as a weak cold front moves through the region. Rainfall should remain limited, but brief light showers are possible before clearing again next weekend.

The pleasant weather pattern will support outdoor activities, with crisp mornings and sunny afternoons dominating much of the week. Residents should continue to monitor fire safety guidance, as dry air and mild winds could lead to locally elevated fire risk in rural counties.
