St. Louis, MO – Summer heat will persist through Tuesday, with high temperatures largely in the 90s and heat index values up to 100°F. The National Weather Service in St. Louis predicts a cool down during the second half of the week, with high temperatures dropping to near or below average.

According to the NWS, today’s temperatures are expected to peak between 90-95°F, with a heat index of up to 100°F. Monday will be even hotter, with highs ranging from 92-98°F. Similar temperatures are expected on Tuesday. The heat index for both days could also reach up to 100°F.

The forecast shows a significant temperature drop starting Wednesday, with highs between 82-90°F. By Thursday, temperatures will further decline, ranging from 80-88°F. The trend of cooler weather will continue into the weekend, with highs in the mid-80s and lower humidity.

Residents are advised to take precautions during the heatwave, such as staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun. The NWS also suggests checking on vulnerable populations, including the elderly and those with health conditions.

The air quality index in St. Louis is currently moderate at 66, which is similar to yesterday. While no precipitation is expected today, some cloud cover might bring slight relief from the sun’s intensity. As the cooler weather approaches, St. Louis residents can look forward to more comfortable conditions by midweek.
