St. Louis, MO – A 23-year-old man was found shot in a stolen car early Saturday, leading to the arrest of two armed suspects, police said.

Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) detectives were notified by the Real Time Crime Center of a stolen white Acura ILX driving near Tucker and Spruce shortly after midnight. ACTF detectives monitored the vehicle until it parked in the 300 block of N. 22nd Street.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a 24-year-old man exited the driver seat, and a 19-year-old man exited the front passenger seat. The driver was armed with a handgun, and the passenger was armed with an AR pistol. As ACTF detectives approached, both men fled on foot, dropping their firearms. After a brief chase, both were caught and arrested. Officers recovered a Glock pistol and an American Tactical AR15.

Detectives then approached the Acura ILX and found a 23-year-old man attempting to crawl out of the rear, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives also noted ballistic damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle. A third firearm, a pistol grip Anderson AR15, was found underneath the car.

EMS transported the wounded man to an area hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition. The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
