According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Martin was critically shot on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in the 5400 block of Natural Bridge Avenue in north St. Louis, located in St. Louis City within the greater St. Louis metro area. Authorities say he was transported for medical treatment but later died from his injuries on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, after spending weeks in a rehabilitation facility.
