St. Louis, Missouri – Missourians should prepare for a steamy weekend as temperatures climb into the low to mid-90s across much of the state, with heat and humidity dominating the weather pattern through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, most locations will remain dry through Saturday, but rain chances gradually increase Sunday afternoon into the evening. While not widespread, scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms may develop by late Sunday, particularly in eastern and southeastern Missouri.

St. Louis, Columbia, and Jefferson City are expected to see daytime highs near 94°F, with heat index values pushing closer to 100°F during peak hours. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and check in on vulnerable neighbors or family members.

Roadways and outdoor venues across the state should stay dry through most of the weekend, but event organizers may want to monitor radar for possible pop-up storms late Sunday.

The heat will persist into early next week, with continued humidity and elevated rain chances. Updates from the NWS will follow if storm threats increase or watches are issued.
