St. Louis Man Caught Selling Commercial Fireworks from U-Haul in Hyde Park

St. Louis, MO – Authorities conducted a significant fireworks seizure over the weekend in Hyde Park, finding a man allegedly selling commercial-grade fireworks from a U-Haul.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Bomb & Arson responded to the scene after receiving a tip-off. Officers discovered a large quantity of fireworks in the vehicle, which required multiple Bomb & Arson vehicles and district vans to safely transport to a secure location.

Police stated that the seized fireworks included various commercial-grade explosives, posing a serious safety risk to the community. The suspect, who was not named, was issued a summons and released at the scene.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about the illegal sale and use of fireworks, particularly as the Fourth of July approaches. Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activity involving fireworks to prevent potential accidents and ensure community safety.
