St. Louis, MO – The National Weather Service in St. Louis says snow chances for Sunday have dropped significantly across Missouri, with most areas now expected to see light rain or dry conditions instead. The forecast shift comes as the storm system moves farther north, sparing much of central and southern Missouri from any meaningful precipitation.

According to the NWS, “very few, if any, locations will see snow,” though far northern counties near Kirksville and Quincy could still see light flakes. The rain/snow mix line is now forecast to stay closer to the Missouri-Illinois border, keeping St. Louis and most of central Missouri dry.

Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to fluctuate sharply through the week. After a chilly Sunday and Monday with highs in the 30s to low 40s, readings will rebound to near 50°F on Tuesday before falling again to the upper 30s by Thursday. Lows are expected to range from the upper teens to upper 20s throughout the week.

Forecasters describe the pattern as a “roller coaster” of temperatures with no major winter storms expected, but they advise residents to stay alert for changing conditions as another weak front moves through midweek.
