St. Louis, MO – A vehicle crash at a busy St. Louis intersection led to a major police response and the recovery of multiple firearms and suspected narcotics on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, District 5 officers responded just after 4 p.m. to a crash at Kingshighway and Laclede. Authorities said three suspects had fled Barnes Hospital after reportedly dropping off a gunshot victim, then crashed into an uninvolved motorist before fleeing the scene on foot.

All three suspects—one adult and two juveniles—were apprehended shortly after by Barnes Public Safety officers.

Police said they recovered four guns, including one with an illegal auto-sear switch, along with various quantities of suspected narcotics and cash, seen displayed in a photo shared by the department.

The shooting victim who was initially dropped off remains hospitalized in critical and unstable condition. The driver of the vehicle struck by the suspects was also hospitalized and is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

No charges have yet been announced, and the investigation remains active.
