St. Louis County, MN – Deputies are searching for an escaped inmate who fled from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center (NERCC) in Saginaw on Tuesday evening. Authorities are urging the public to stay alert and avoid contact with the individual.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Michael Todd Hart allegedly escaped from the facility and is believed to be heading north toward the Independence area. Deputies said Hart was last seen wearing a yellow sweatshirt, gray T-shirt, and blue pants.
Hart is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 169 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Law enforcement officials warn that anyone who spots Hart should not approach him but instead call 911 immediately.
Deputies are actively searching the area and coordinating with nearby jurisdictions. It is not yet clear how Hart allegedly escaped from the corrections center.
Residents in Saginaw, Independence, and surrounding parts of St. Louis County are advised to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
