St. Louis, MO – A mild start to the holiday week will quickly give way to a cooler pattern across Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis. Temperatures will swing from the lower 60s Tuesday to the mid-40s by Thanksgiving Day, with another round of rain likely by the end of the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week, with highs ranging from 59 to 62 degrees and only a 20% chance of an isolated shower. Skies will turn mostly cloudy ahead of a midweek cold front.
By Wednesday, cooler air settles in with highs reaching only the low to mid-40s under mostly sunny skies. That trend continues into Thanksgiving Day, which is expected to be sunny and seasonably chilly, with highs between 40 and 48 degrees. Winds remain light, making outdoor gatherings manageable despite the cooler weather.
Friday stays quiet but mostly cloudy, with highs around 41 to 48 degrees. Conditions remain dry through most of the day before a pattern shift brings increasing moisture into the region.
A 40% chance of rain arrives Saturday, followed by a more widespread rainfall event on Sunday, when rain chances rise to 70%. Highs this weekend will range from the mid-40s to mid-50s, depending on the timing of the arriving system.
Holiday travelers heading in and out of the St. Louis metro should prepare for dry but chilly conditions Wednesday through Friday and plan for potential wet roads late Saturday into Sunday.
