Columbus Township, MI – A man accused of carrying out a series of home invasions across multiple St. Clair County communities was arrested earlier this week after deputies linked him to seven break-ins reported between November 28 and December 3.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the incidents occurred across several townships and involved an unknown delivery driver who allegedly entered residences along his route and stole valuables. Investigators say the break-ins came to an end on December 6 when deputies located and arrested 32-year-old Deonte King of Redford after responding to a reported home invasion on Werner Road in Columbus Township.
Deputies say no one was home during the attempted break-in, but multiple items were reported stolen. A countywide “be on the lookout” alert was issued for the suspect vehicle. King was later stopped while driving a white box truck and taken into custody. Detectives were able to match most of the recovered items to their rightful owners.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, King was arraigned in 72nd District Court on December 9, 2025. His bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety. He faces the following charges:
• Felony – Home Invasion 1st Degree (One count)
• Felony – Home Invasion 2nd Degree (Five counts)
Sheriff Mat King urged residents to keep doors and windows locked, especially when away from home, and to report suspicious activity immediately. He noted that the holiday season often brings unusual delivery traffic, making vigilance important.
“Thank you to our road patrol deputies for thorough reporting and to our partner agencies for their help locating the suspect,” Sheriff King said in the statement.
