ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – Drivers using Interstate 70 near the Route T/W Foristell interchange should prepare for full overnight closures beginning Monday, November 18, through Thursday, November 21, as crews work on the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

Crews will be setting bridge girders that require large cranes and swinging materials over the interstate. For safety, all eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 will close intermittently between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night, weather permitting.

MoDOT officials said the closure process will occur in phases — one lane in each direction will close first, followed by a full interstate closure while girders are lifted into place at the interchange.

Drivers should expect short-term 15-minute full closures during these overnight hours and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

The work is part of the multi-year Improve I-70 corridor project, which was awarded in November 2024 and covers the eastern portion of I-70 from Warrenton to Wentzville. Construction is expected to run from 2025 to 2028.

More details and project updates are available at modot.org.
