St. Charles, Illinois – A three-day farm-themed event in April is expected to draw families and children for hands-on activities and agricultural education.
According to the Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation, the 20th annual Touch-A-Tractor event will run April 10–12, Friday through Sunday, at its facility located at 2N710 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.
The event allows children to interact with farm equipment, including antique tractors and modern machinery, and to meet local farmers. Activities include pedal tractor rides, a corn corral, toy farm play areas, culvert crawling, and opportunities to see farm animals, according to organizers.
Organizers estimate attendance between 1,000 and 1,500 visitors over the three-day weekend. The event also invites local groups and organizations to host educational booths or farm-themed activities for attendees.
Admission is priced at $2 for adults or $5 per family. A raffle ticket purchase for a vintage truck includes free family admission for all three days, according to the foundation.
The event serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser, supporting college scholarships and agricultural literacy programs. Organizers said they are also seeking participants to display tractors or farm equipment of any age during the event.
“Story Time” sessions featuring farm-themed books will be held hourly on Saturday and Sunday, with selections drawn from the Farm Bureau’s agricultural literacy library.
Families traveling to the St. Charles area may see increased traffic near Randall Road during event hours.
The event may be of particular interest to students and young families seeking interactive learning experiences.
