Springfield, Missouri – After weeks of intense summer heat, southwest Missouri is enjoying a much-needed break as cooler air settles over the region for the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, highs will range from 77°F to 86°F through Monday, with cooler overnight lows dipping into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Skies will stay mostly sunny, and no rain is expected until early next week.
Saturday and Sunday are shaping up to be ideal for outdoor plans in Springfield, Branson, and Rolla, with low humidity and a light breeze. Monday brings a slight (10-20%) chance of showers or storms in the afternoon.
With dry roads and lower UV levels, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the stretch of cool, stable weather before the humidity rises again midweek.
