Missouri wakes up under a blanket of thick, low-lying fog across the Ozarks. Visibility drops to a quarter mile or less in spots around Springfield before sunrise. Drivers along I-44 and Highway 65 face reduced visibility and sudden changes in road conditions.

A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra distance between vehicles. Conditions gradually improve after daybreak as sunlight mixes the air.

Temperatures begin near 40 degrees this morning. Fog gives way to sunshine by late morning. Highs climb to the upper 60s this afternoon, delivering an early taste of Spring Vibes in mid-February.

The warming trend strengthens Tuesday. Highs reach the low 70s with breezy south winds. Gusts may approach 30 mph at times. Dry air and gusty winds could elevate fire weather concerns midweek, especially Wednesday.

By Wednesday, February 18, sunshine dominates and highs peak near 73 degrees. That’s well above normal for this time of year. Clear skies continue Wednesday night with mild evening temperatures.

Late week stays mostly sunny and warm before a gradual cooldown next weekend. Highs ease back into the 50s and lower 60s. No Snow, Ice Storm, or Freeze threats appear in the immediate forecast.

Looking into President’s Day Week and the 6–10 day outlook, temperatures trend above average across much of Missouri. Winter remains quiet for now, but February patterns can shift quickly.

The immediate Weather impact is dense fog this morning. Improvement arrives quickly, followed by a remarkable warm stretch across Springfield and the Missouri Ozarks.
