Springfield, MO – Fog and low clouds will linger late tonight into Sunday morning across southwest Missouri, with the highest likelihood of reduced visibility west of Highway 65. The National Weather Service in Springfield warns that visibilities may drop to ½ mile or less, potentially creating difficult travel for early-morning drivers.

According to the National Weather Service, fog will be slow to lift Sunday morning before sunshine returns in the afternoon. High temperatures are expected to reach the low-to-mid 60s, creating a mild day once the fog dissipates.

Clouds increase again late Sunday night ahead of a more robust system set to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms to the region Monday. Rain chances climb to around 90%, with showers and storms likely throughout the day. Highs Monday will range from 55–59 degrees, with steady rainfall spreading across much of the Ozarks.

Tuesday turns mostly cloudy but drier, with highs near the upper 50s to mid-60s. Another cool-down arrives Wednesday, dropping highs into the mid-40s to low-50s under mostly sunny skies.

Drivers across the region should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions overnight into Sunday morning. The NWS urges motorists to slow down, avoid cruise control in fog, and use low-beam headlights.
