Springfield, Missouri — Lingering rain and a few rumbles of thunder early Saturday are expected to give way to cooler and mostly cloudy conditions across the Ozarks today.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, morning showers will gradually move out of the region, with afternoon temperatures ranging from the low 50s to upper 60s. Skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy through much of the day.

Conditions improve Sunday as sunshine returns and temperatures climb into the mid-60s to upper 60s across southwest Missouri.

A stronger warming trend is expected Monday. Forecasters say temperatures could reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, approaching record levels for early March in parts of the region.

That warmth may help fuel the next weather system moving into the Ozarks. The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday, with an 85–95% chance of storms developing across the area.

Rain chances may continue into Wednesday, with storm probabilities ranging from 60–85%, though the exact timing and strength of storms could change as the system develops.

Residents planning outdoor activities early next week may want to monitor updated forecasts as conditions shift from warm and sunny to potentially stormy.

For commuters and students traveling across southwest Missouri, the combination of warm temperatures followed by midweek storms could bring changing road and travel conditions.
