Springfield, IL – Central Illinois residents can expect rain to taper off from west to east Sunday morning before skies turn partly sunny, according to the National Weather Service Central Illinois.
Forecasters said the weekend will close with showers and highs in the mid-60s, with a noticeable temperature dip arriving early next week. By Monday, conditions will turn breezy and cooler, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s and nighttime lows dipping into the 30s and 40s.
According to the NWS, the region will experience “blustery and cooler” weather through midweek as a cold front settles over the state. Sunshine is expected to return briefly by Tuesday and Wednesday, though gusty winds may persist. Another chance of light rain returns by Thursday.
Drivers and outdoor workers should prepare for cooler mornings and brisk winds, particularly Tuesday and Wednesday.
