Raleigh, NC – A brief round of rain will kick off the workweek in North Carolina, but sunshine and spring-like warmth are right behind it.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday will start mostly cloudy in Raleigh, with a high near 58°F. Rain chances increase after noon, with a 40% likelihood of showers. Winds will remain light, shifting from the east at 5 to 9 mph. Rainfall amounts are expected to be minimal, with less than a tenth of an inch possible.

By Monday night, rain chances drop to 30%, mainly before 2 a.m. Temperatures will dip to around 39°F, and winds will stay calm at 7 mph.

Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a dramatic change with mostly sunny skies and a high of 73°F. This warming trend continues into Wednesday and Thursday, with highs climbing into the mid-70s. Overnight lows will remain in the upper 40s and low 50s.

By the end of the week, Raleigh residents can expect mostly sunny conditions on Friday, with highs reaching 77°F. Saturday will be another pleasant day with a high near 79°F.

For commuters and travelers, wet roads Monday morning could cause slick conditions on major routes, including I-40 and I-440. Plan for extra time during peak hours.

While Monday’s showers will be brief, the rest of the week offers perfect spring weather for outdoor activities.
