Las Vegas, NV – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Spring Mountains, including Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon, from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday. Heavy snow and strong winds are expected.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will accumulate 3 to 6 inches above 7,000 feet, particularly in Lee Canyon. Wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph could down tree branches, creating additional hazards.
Drivers should expect slick and icy road conditions on highways 156, 157, and 158. Reduced visibility and slippery roads will make travel challenging in affected areas. Authorities urge travelers to exercise caution and check road updates by calling 511.
The heaviest snowfall is forecast during the evening, tapering off by early Wednesday morning. Nearby areas like Kyle Canyon may see lighter snowfall totals. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
