Brooksville, Florida – A neighborhood dispute turned deadly within minutes Tuesday afternoon, leaving a 52-year-old man dead and a suspect in custody following a shooting in Hernando County.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 4:31 p.m. after a 911 report of a man bleeding from his arm at a residence. When first responders arrived, they found evidence of gunfire, including shell casings, and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
The victim, identified as Francis Biegaj, was rushed for emergency treatment but later died from his injuries. Witnesses told deputies they heard multiple gunshots and saw a man walking away from the home holding what appeared to be a pistol.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as Tony Deuser, who lives nearby. Deputies surrounded a home on Gillian Circle, and after SWAT and crisis teams responded, Deuser exited and was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities say the shooting stemmed from an argument over loud music. Deuser is charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
The investigation remains active, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact Hernando County Crime Stoppers.
