The shooting occurred on September 15, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., when deputies responded to the 10900 block of Taney Drive. They found a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second suspect, a 15-year-old male, was also arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a minor. Both the victim and the juvenile suspect are students in Spotsylvania County schools, according to officials.
