Spokane, WA – The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Wind Advisory for much of eastern Washington and north Idaho, in effect from 9 p.m. Saturday through 9 a.m. Sunday, with gusts up to 50 mph expected overnight.

The advisory covers a wide area including Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Moses Lake, Pullman, Ritzville, Ephrata, and Colville, as well as mountain passes such as Lookout Pass and Fourth of July Pass.

According to the NWS, sustained south to southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph will accompany the strongest gusts, creating hazardous travel conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, as tree limbs may break, and isolated power outages could occur.

Winds are expected to increase late Saturday evening and continue through early Sunday morning before gradually weakening by mid-morning.

Motorists traveling overnight should use extra caution, especially on open highways and exposed ridges where gusts will be strongest.
