Washington – A cold bite lingers in the air this afternoon, with temperatures starting in the mid-30s and slowly climbing under bright sunshine, but a wetter and more unsettled pattern is already taking shape for the weekend.

By Friday, temperatures climb to around 70°F with mostly sunny skies, marking the warmest day in this stretch. However, clouds begin increasing late, signaling an incoming shift.

Saturday brings the first real impacts. Rain chances rise to around 50% after late morning, with showers and possible thunderstorms developing through the afternoon. Expect wet pavement and reduced visibility at times, especially along I-90.

Saturday night and Sunday keep scattered showers in place, with cooler highs dropping into the upper 50s. Roads may remain damp for extended periods, slowing travel.
