Spokane, Wash. – Eastern Washington will see a brief break from its dry streak Friday as light showers move across the region, but the relief will be short-lived with summer heat quickly returning early next week. Rainfall totals will remain minimal, with most locations picking up less than 0.05 inches, according to the National Weather Service in Spokane.

The light precipitation will fall mainly in the morning and early afternoon Friday, affecting cities from Spokane to Colville and Pullman. Roads are not expected to become slick, but the damp conditions may briefly cool the air before afternoon highs climb into the upper 70s and low 80s.

By Monday, temperatures across the Inland Northwest will surge again, with Lewiston expected to hit 89°F, Spokane reaching 87°F, and Moses Lake topping 88°F by Tuesday. Lewiston could see the hottest readings, peaking near 92°F Tuesday afternoon. Dry and sunny conditions will dominate from Saturday through at least midweek, raising fire weather concerns in rural areas.

Residents should prepare for hot afternoons and stay hydrated, especially for outdoor work or recreation. No additional rain is expected after Friday until late next week.
