Spokane, Wash. – Summer heat is returning in full force across the Inland Northwest this week, with highs climbing into the 90s and some valley locations expected to break into the low 100s by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, temperatures will steadily rise beginning Tuesday, with Spokane reaching the low 90s by Thursday and Lewiston pushing toward triple digits. Moses Lake, Omak, and Wenatchee are also expected to see mid- to upper-90s daily through Sunday.

The heat will be felt most strongly in lower valleys, where stagnant air and limited overnight cooling could drive afternoon highs to 100 degrees or higher. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

Outdoor recreation, especially along rivers and hiking trails, will carry added risks as heat builds. Pet owners should keep animals indoors during the hottest hours and provide plenty of fresh water.

The stretch of hot, dry weather is expected to last into early next week, keeping wildfire concerns elevated across eastern Washington and north Idaho. More updates are expected if conditions worsen.
