Spokane, WA – A late-night traffic stop in Spokane County turned chaotic Friday when an unrelated man allegedly emerged from the darkness and began kicking a deputy’s patrol car, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. on November 7, 2025, in the 1100 block of N. Argonne Road. The deputy had just completed a traffic stop and was checking paperwork inside his marked patrol car when the suspect reportedly appeared on the passenger side and began kicking the door.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy, startled and alone at the time, exited the vehicle, drew his taser, and called for emergency assistance. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Blake C. Alexander, allegedly complied with commands and was taken into custody once backup arrived.

Investigators said Alexander told deputies he was homeless and decided to approach the patrol car “because he hates cops.” Officials confirmed that Alexander did not know the deputy personally.

Alexander was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of felony malicious mischief, obstructing law enforcement, and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant. Records show this is the second time Alexander has been jailed in Spokane County since 2020.
