Spokane Valley, WA — A woman was killed Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle on North Sullivan Road, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of Vehicular Homicide, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at about 6:20 p.m. on November 14 to the 800 block of N. Sullivan Road for a report of an auto–pedestrian crash. Initial findings indicate that the vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Seth E. Schrammeck, was traveling south on Sullivan Road when he hit an adult female pedestrian as she attempted to cross the roadway.
Despite attempts by first responders to save her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release her name and cause of death when appropriate.
Investigators say Schrammeck showed signs of impairment and was arrested for Vehicular Homicide. He also had two children in the vehicle at the time of the crash, though neither was injured. In addition to the homicide charge, he was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Reckless Endangerment.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-camera footage to contact Corporal T. Miller at 509-477-3195, referencing case #10162584. Businesses in the area are also encouraged to review their surveillance systems for any video that may help investigators.
