Spokane Valley, WA – Spokane County deputies arrested a man early Tuesday morning after an hours-long standoff in a Spokane Valley neighborhood, where he was allegedly found hiding in an attic, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, the incident began around 9 p.m. Monday when Spokane Valley units received information that 44-year-old Gregory J. Talbot was inside a residence on the 1800 block of N. Corbin Lane. Talbot was wanted on several felony and misdemeanor charges tied to an alleged domestic violence incident reported earlier that same day.

Deputies said they developed probable cause to charge Talbot with first-degree robbery (DV), first-degree burglary (DV), malicious mischief (DV), interfering with reporting domestic violence, third-degree theft (DV), and fourth-degree assault, but were unable to find him following the initial report.

When deputies arrived at the Corbin Lane home Monday night, they established a perimeter and repeatedly instructed Talbot to surrender. Despite continued announcements and hearing noises from inside the home, deputies said the suspect refused to respond.

With no cooperation and drone assistance failing to locate him, investigators requested a search warrant around 11:15 p.m. The warrant was approved just before midnight, and the Warrant Service Group (WSG)—a specialized team of SWAT-trained deputies—moved into position.

Deputies said one adult male exited the home shortly afterward and was detained but later released without charges.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., the WSG located Talbot allegedly hiding in the attic. He was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Spokane County Jail on the previously listed charges.
