Spokane, Washington – Rain showers are back in eastern Washington today, with Spokane facing a 70% chance of precipitation and the possibility of a thunderstorm after 8 p.m. Monday. Southbound commuters along U.S. Route 2 could see wet pavement during the evening hours, with higher terrain facing the most rain.
According to the National Weather Service, snow levels will rise from 4,200 feet to 6,200 feet through the afternoon, keeping roads wet but not icy. Winds from the south will pick up slightly between 7 to 9 mph, with clouds increasing as the day progresses. Rain amounts are expected to be light—less than a tenth of an inch overall—but heavier downpours may develop within isolated thunderstorms.
Showers may linger past 11 p.m., with snow levels crashing back to 4,300 feet overnight. While no major flooding or road washouts are expected, drivers should slow down and avoid water pooling near curbs or low-lying areas.
Tuesday will offer a break from the moisture. Skies will clear, and Spokane should reach a high near 62°F under mostly sunny skies. Southwest winds will range from 7 to 14 mph—enough to knock over unsecured items.
Looking Ahead:
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high near 65°F
- Thursday: Slight chance of showers, partly sunny, high near 69°F
- Friday: Showers and thunderstorms possible after 11 a.m., high around 72°F
- Saturday: More 70s expected, with a 30% chance of afternoon rain
