KOOSKIA, Idaho — A motorcycle crash on Highway 12 east of Kooskia claimed the life of a 61-year-old man from Spokane and left a minor injured on August 17. The accident occurred around 3:58 p.m. at milepost 76 when the motorcyclist attempted to pass another vehicle.

According to the Idaho State Police (ISP), the motorcyclist and his minor passenger were struck by the vehicle they were trying to pass as it turned left. Despite wearing helmets, the impact was fatal for the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The minor was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

ISP is continuing its investigation into the crash, and the next of kin has been notified. The condition of the minor has not been released, but the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers on the road. Further details about the crash may be released as the investigation progresses.
