Spokane County, WA – A wanted domestic violence suspect was arrested Monday evening after a tense, hours-long standoff with Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and a K9 unit in the 19600 block of East Wellesley Avenue.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Austin G. Vogtritter allegedly violated a Domestic Violence Court Order of Protection. Deputies responded around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports that Vogtritter was inside the home and possibly armed, prompting concerns for the safety of a female victim.

Authorities established a perimeter and repeatedly ordered Vogtritter to surrender. Despite multiple announcements and warnings, deputies said he refused to exit the residence. The Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect could be seen inside and could hear the commands but ignored them.

By approximately 6:50 p.m., deputies executed a signed search warrant after failed negotiations. The Warrant Service Group and K9 Units entered the home, eventually locating Vogtritter, who continued to resist. He was safely taken into custody following K9 contact and provided medical treatment on scene.

Vogtritter was booked into the Spokane County Jail on felony Residential Burglary (Domestic Violence) and misdemeanor Violation of a Court Order charges. No injuries were reported to deputies, the victim, or the suspect during the incident.
