Spokane Valley, WA – A stolen license plate alert led Spokane Valley Deputies to two convicted felons Sunday morning, resulting in a tense foot chase through a busy parking lot where both suspects allegedly discarded loaded firearms.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) detected a stolen Washington plate affixed to a Honda Pilot parked near East Broadway Avenue around 9:40 a.m. on November 2, 2025. Deputies confirmed the plate was stolen from a Honda CR-V and began investigating the unoccupied vehicle.

Store loss prevention employees helped identify a man and woman seen arriving in the Honda. When Deputies approached the pair—later identified as 30-year-old Domanique Ibarra and 28-year-old Jackie Malong—they allegedly fled in opposite directions.

During the chase, Deputies said Malong resisted arrest and appeared to grab toward her waistband before being detained. A loaded pink Glock 9mm pistol was later recovered nearby. Ibarra was apprehended separately after allegedly tossing black clothing under a parked car, where a loaded .22 caliber revolver was found.

Both suspects were treated at a hospital after claiming to have ingested drugs. Deputies also located methamphetamine during the search. Neither recovered firearm was reported stolen.

Ibarra and Malong—each with multiple prior felony convictions—were booked into the Spokane County Jail. Both face charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 2nd Degree, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Resisting Arrest.
