Spokane County, WA – A Spokane County man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing his vehicle, which rolled over and landed upside down in a neighbor’s yard, authorities said.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 2:20 a.m. on October 18, 2025, to the 300 block of W. Cascade Way near N. Calispel Street for a report of a rollover crash. A nearby resident told dispatchers she heard a loud crash and later found a car overturned in her neighbor’s yard.

Deputies arrived to find a black Volkswagen Rabbit flipped upside down and 22-year-old Eric R. Gallagher sitting nearby. When asked what happened, Gallagher allegedly admitted to being intoxicated, reportedly saying, “I’m drunk, you can arrest me man.”

Gallagher was evaluated by medics and found to be uninjured. Deputies said a breath test later showed a blood alcohol content between .178 and .180, more than twice Washington’s legal limit of .08.

After being medically cleared at a local hospital, Gallagher was booked into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. Later that evening, Judge A. Biviano released him on his own recognizance following a probable cause review.

No other vehicles were involved, and no injuries were reported, according to deputies.
