Spokane, WA – A months-long Spokane Valley Investigative Unit (SVIU) operation led to the arrest of a 13-time convicted felon this week, with detectives recovering firearms, drugs, and stolen property following a search at a Spokane Valley residence.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, investigators began looking into alleged drug sales earlier this fall, identifying 40-year-old Ryan L. Olson as a possible suspect. Detectives developed information indicating Olson was allegedly selling large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine while living at a residence on North Regal Street.

Authorities said Olson, who has previous convictions including identity theft, burglary, organized retail theft, and unlawful firearm possession, also had an active felony Department of Corrections warrant for escape from community custody.

Detectives obtained a search warrant after developing probable cause for alleged drug delivery and the use of a residence for drug activity. Around 9:20 a.m. on November 25, 2025, SVIU Detectives—assisted by the SWAT Team—served the warrant and took Olson into custody.

Inside the home, investigators reportedly found three firearms, including one confirmed stolen; multiple magazines and ammunition; hundreds of suspected fentanyl pills; suspected methamphetamine; drug scales and packaging; electronics; credit and debit cards; a stolen license plate; a white 2011 BMW; and a stolen Trek bicycle.

Olson was booked into the Spokane County Jail and now faces additional charges, including unlawful firearm possession, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, and possession of stolen property. His bond is set at $190,000, and he remains held on a DOC detainer.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges or arrests may occur.
