Spartanburg, SC – Warm and dry conditions will hold through the weekend across the Upstate, but showers could dampen commutes by early next week. Afternoon highs will stay in the upper 70s through Sunday before cooler, wetter weather edges in.

According to the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg office, skies remain mostly sunny Friday and Saturday with daytime highs near 77°F and overnight lows in the upper 50s. Winds will stay light, generally out of the northeast. By Sunday, increasing clouds signal the pattern change, though highs will still reach the upper 70s to near 80°F.

Rain chances climb late Monday into Tuesday as a frontal boundary pushes across the I-85 corridor. NWS forecasters note a 30–40 percent chance of showers Monday evening into Tuesday morning, with heavier pockets possible at times. Drivers along I-85 and I-26 should plan for slick pavement and slower traffic during the early commute hours.

Outdoor activities and high school football games look safe through Sunday night, but residents should prepare for wet conditions to start the new week. Utility crews advise checking storm drains and clearing leaves ahead of the system, while residents are encouraged to bring in outdoor furniture before winds and rain increase. Pets and sensitive plants will not be at risk this weekend, but damp conditions early next week could linger through Wednesday.

The unsettled pattern eases midweek, with cooler, drier air filtering back by Thursday, bringing highs closer to the upper 60s.
