Melbourne, FL – East Central Florida is starting Friday on a chilly note, with temperatures dipping into the low to mid-40s across much of the region and a few upper-30s readings north of I-4, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Melbourne. Conditions will warm quickly after 8 a.m., leading to a clear and pleasant afternoon with highs in the 70s.
According to the NWS, the main hazard today is a moderate rip current risk along all Atlantic beaches from Daytona Beach through the Space Coast and down to the Treasure Coast. Despite calm weather inland, beachgoers should use caution if entering the water, especially during the late morning and afternoon hours when risks typically peak.
Forecast highs today range from the low 70s in Daytona Beach and Sanford to the mid-70s in Orlando, Melbourne, and Vero Beach, with upper 70s expected around Port St. Lucie and Stuart. Rain chances remain near zero across the region.
Looking ahead, Saturday and Sunday will feature patchy morning fog, seasonably warm afternoons, and the potential for isolated southern showers, mainly near Fort Pierce and Okeechobee. Highs will stay in the mid to upper 70s. Marine hazards—including rip currents—continue through the weekend.
By Monday, another cool-down arrives as breezy to windy conditions develop along the coast, leading to poor beach and surf conditions. Highs drop back into the upper 60s to low 70s before rebounding into the low 70s by Tuesday under clear skies.
