La Crosse, WI – Light snow is expected to return to parts of southwest Wisconsin Saturday, with a mix of rain and snow likely through the day before colder air settles in by evening, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.

Forecasters say the system will move in Saturday morning, bringing periods of snow — occasionally mixing with rain — mainly south of Interstate 94. Minor accumulations under half an inch are expected on cold, grassy surfaces. A small chance (5–20%) exists for one inch or more of snow, especially south of Interstate 90.

While snowfall amounts will remain light, temperatures falling Saturday evening could create icy conditions on untreated bridges, overpasses, and elevated surfaces. Drivers are urged to use caution if traveling late Saturday or early Sunday morning.

Reduced visibility is also possible during heavier bursts of snow, though widespread travel impacts are not anticipated.

The National Weather Service encourages residents to monitor forecast updates as conditions may shift depending on the storm’s exact track.
