WILMINGTON, Ohio – A thick fog settled over Clinton County early Friday, wrapping fields and highways in a hazy gray veil. Visibility has dipped below a quarter mile in spots, and drivers across southwestern Ohio should expect slow travel through midmorning. Light drizzle mixes with dense fog, creating slick roads and limited sightlines — especially along I-71 and U.S. 68.

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook for reduced visibility through late morning. Motorists are urged to use low beams, slow down, and allow extra distance while traveling. Light rain moves in by midday, lasting through this evening. Rainfall totals will stay light — around 0.10 to 0.25 inches — but combined with fog, it may delay early Thanksgiving travel for those hitting the road ahead of the weekend.

Conditions improve dramatically Saturday as drier air moves in. Expect highs near 50°F under clearing skies, followed by a mild, sunny stretch through Sunday. Monday brings another round of rain, signaling the next weather shift before Thanksgiving week begins.

Looking beyond the weekend, national weather models show a broader winter-like pattern developing across the northern U.S. starting mid-next week. Some regions from the Great Lakes to New England could see 3–8 inches of snow between November 25 and December 2, with cooler air spilling south into the Ohio Valley.
