CINCINNATI, Ohio – A blanket of thick fog and falling drizzle has settled across the Ohio Valley this morning, cutting visibility to near zero in spots and creating a slick, gray start to the weekend. As the day unfolds, that fog will lift—but it’s only the beginning of a dramatic weather shift from mild air to a colder, wintry pattern by Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for much of southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana, including the Cincinnati metro. Visibility could drop below a quarter mile in valleys and low-lying areas. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra distance on I-71, I-75, and I-275.

Rain arrives later today and persists through Sunday morning before colder air drives a transition to a rain-snow mix. A few light accumulations are possible north and east of the city, especially in higher terrain. By early Monday, flurries may linger as highs fall into the 30s—a sharp drop from today’s mild 60°F readings.

Veterans Day looks calmer and seasonably cool with sunshine and highs near 43°F. For now, residents should plan for dense morning fog and prepare for slick conditions as temperatures dip late Sunday. With more cold air on the way next week, this weekend marks Cincinnati’s first real hint of winter and a reminder to check your tires, wipers, and travel plans before holiday trips begin later this month.
